4 JANE & NED GLADSTEIN Congregation Agudath Israel, New Jersey Hiddur Mitzvah Award Few people have impacted the training of American rabbis more than Jane and Ned Gladstein. For 15 years, the Gladstein Fellowship in Entrepreneurial Rabbinic Leadership at the Jewish Theological Seminary has provided exclusive training for promising rabbinical students and ongoing support to alumni as they embark on their careers. In 2015, the Gladstein Fellowship partnered with Masorti Olami on a mission to bring their cohort of American rabbis to meet European Masorti communities, and they are planning their next Fellowship Mission to Latin America. Through Masorti Olami, Jane and Ned have supported communities around the world, building a playground in Mendoza, supporting kindergartens in Masorti communities in Kiev and in Ramot Zion in Jerusalem, delivering a Torah scroll to the Masorti Community in Prague, and assisting additional communities in Europe and Latin America. Jane enjoyed a 30-year career at Congregation Agudath Israel s nursery school in Caldwell, NJ during which she helped to instill Jewish values in hundreds of young children. Ned has led the family business at ShopRite Supermarkets, served as an officer of Masorti Olami, is currently on the Board of Trustees at the Jewish Theological Seminary, and is slated to be the next International President of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
